As renewable energy systems evolve, global institutions are seeking new ways to mobilize youth talent and accelerate clean technology solutions.

Supported by the government of the United Arab Emirates, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) launched the NewGen Hackathons to empower young innovators to tackle emerging renewable energy challenges through structured ideation and prototyping. To ensure high-quality outcomes and alignment with IRENA’s mission, the Agency commissioned expert support to design a scalable implementation strategy and operational guidebook. DOTANK Plus developed the strategic framework and capacity building process to enable consistent, impactful delivery of the NewGen Hackathons across regions.
