Cameroon ALDFG Reduction Initiative
Project Design and Community Engagement Strategy
about the project
The Cameroon ALDFG Reduction Initiative was a marine conservation project focused on addressing Abandoned, Lost, and Discarded Fishing Gear (ALDFG) through applied research, community engagement, and capacity building. Dedicated to protecting marine ecosystems and promoting sustainable fishing practices, the initiative combined a tailored training curriculum, field surveys, and data analysis to strengthen local knowledge, encourage innovation, and support collective action with measurable environmental outcomes.
DOTANK Plus supported the project design and community engagement strategy, contributing to the development of the curriculum, data-informed approaches, and stakeholder engagement processes.
